Registration & Visa Process - International Students

STEP 1 - Obtaining I-20 Form (Issued By Flight School)
  1. Fill out the 'International Student Registration Form' in its entirety and submit for school registration. You can complete download it or request it from our offices over the phone or email (support@visionflighttraining.com). All information for contacting us is available on our contacts page (download requires Acrobat 7.0 or later version for viewing). Call us for any questions or concerns.
  2. Submit the completed Accomodation and Transportation agreement.
  3. Submit a bank statement (from a reputable bank in India or USA) demonstrating that you and/or your sponsor (parent and/or legal guardian) have the financial resources to pay for the flight training and can afford living in the United States without work. This amount should be atleast US$ 35,000.00 (this document will be helpful for visa processing).
  4. Submit a photocopy of your passport with a validity of minimum one year (informational pages only - first and last).
  5. Make a payment of US$ 200.00 (or equivalent in Indian Rupees) as registration and processing fee payable to Vision Flight Training Inc.

  6. Your registration funds will be allocated as follows:

    • US$ 100.00 for registration, documentation, postage and handling fee - non refundable.
    • US$ 100.00 is security deposit held by us - fully refundable if you are denied visa for training. You must provide us with clear proof of 'DENIAL' of entry within thirty days after refusal of visa to receive your refund. Otherwise, on arrival in US this amount ($100) will be credited towards your flight account.

    On completion of all registration requirements, the school issues 'acceptance letter', and 'I-20' for visa processing. You will receive the folowing documents on successful completion of the registration process:


    1. Admission acceptance letter indicating registration information and training start date.
    2. Form I-20 for visa processing at the US Embassy/Consulate.
STEP 2 - Registering With SEVIS
Before applying for visa: Register with SEVIS and file the I-901 fee (US$ 200.00). This is a one-time fee for International students travelling to United States for education.

Student and Exchange Visitor Program: SEVIS is a US government organization for monitoring international students. Students must maintain 22 hours of attendance per week to be considered full-time students. Pursuing a Professional Flight Training course with a certified flight school meets this requirement.   • File the I-901 Form online - Pay by credit card.
  • Download Form I-901 (PDF) - Pay by check or specified method.
  • Check Payment Status - Check status of your payment.

You can also file and pay the SEVIS fee through Western Union.
STEP 3 - Obtaining Visa
YOU MUST NOW PROCEED TO OBTAIN YOUR M-1 VISA FROM THE EMBASSY/CONSULATE

On completion of the school registration process students will be issued with 'I-20' form as specified by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.) to apply for the M-1 student Visa for flight training. This visa is for students who wish to obtain a Private License, Instrument Rating, Commercial License, Multi-Engine Rating, CFI / CFII-ME or Airline Transport Pilot's License. Students can also obtain a temporary work permit as a flight instructor with the school on completion of CFI rating, under the international student exchange program. Vision can guide you through this process. Additionally, Vision provides guidance to all students on arrival with formalities related to TSA, fingerprinting and FAA medical requirements.

Documents required for visa processing by US Embassy/Consulate
  1. Passport with a minimum validity of one year.
  2. I-20 form issued by school.
  3. Proof of registration with SEVIS.
  4. Bank statement and/or a loan approval statement from a bank (reputable bank in India or USA) demonstrating that you and /or your sponsor (parent and/or legal guardian) have the financial resources to pay for the entire flight training course and can afford living in the United States without work. This amount should be greater than US$ 35,000.00.
  5. Ability to satisfy the interviewing officer that you will return to India after completion of training (proof of property /assets in India).
